Last nights Final episode of The Block (Blocktagon) took “Reality TV” to a whole new level – it went Virtual.

As a part of the (traditionally long and drawn out) process to find out the reserve price for each apartment, contestants donned Virtual Reality Headsets and took a Virtual Tour / Walkthrough of their apartments to find the location of the key to their Reserve prices.

Virtual Reality in Real Estate is not a new thing, but with the availability of sophisticated VR Headsets (such as the Oculus Rift or Samsung Gear VR) and much less expensive options (such as Google Cardboard) which convert your smart phone into a surprisingly realistic Virtual Reality experience.

Businesses too are taking advantage of Virtual Reality technology – using technologies such as Google’s Street View | Trusted service to make their shopfronts available online via a Google Virtual Tour.
